For those of you who don't know, we're taking what we're sure will be a once in a lifetime family vacation to France at the end of August 2011. I thought creating this Blog would be a great way to share our experience with you, and perhaps even inspire you to take a similar trip someday!
While we haven't left for France yet, we're busy planning our itinerary, booking trains, hotels and cars, creating packing lists, and buying some Euros. Oh, and yes, setting up this Blog so you can join us on our travels!
We'll be travelling from Halifax to Paris on August 28th, and staying at an apartment in the Marais district (here) until September 2nd. We then travel by train (TGV - high speed bullet train) to Bordeaux, where we'll be met by Jeff's sister Judy and her husband Christian. They live in a little town called Podensac, about 50 kms southeast of Bordeaux (here). We return to Halifax on September 10th.
